A different kind of school

Kawartha Farm school isn't just a private school (on a farm) - we are a community of like-minded families building an institute devoted to excellence in elementary education, and focused on development of practical life-skills, self-sufficiency and traditional ethics.

Empowered Learning

At Kawartha Farm School we offer a one-of-a-kind enhanced curriculum of life-skills based workshops. While learning all variety self sufficiency skills, our students will build confidence and develop personal responsibility and independence.

In our greenhouse & gardens - They will be rewarded with their ability to contribute to your families household needs and off-setting your investment in their education by growing food for their family.  Each student will have their very own 'Family Garden Plot' within our commercial sized greenhouse as well as outdoor-garden growing space where, through our diverse learning activities, projects and workshops - they will learn to effectively cultivate food throughout the seasons -  and everything they (successfully) grow in their plots will go home to your family.

Healthy Connection to our Food and Land

Additionally - raising livestock and animal husbandry projects and activities will not only enrich our curriculum but will result in the production of clean, grass-fed & chemical free meat animals which will be processed and available for sale back to our school's families at non-profit cost. Opening up opportunity for your family to benefit from access to high quality meat and eggs your child contributed to raising.

Circular Economy

It is our hope that as our Farm School family grows that more synergies can be found within our circle of families where trade, barter and co-operative opportunities to support each other with our skills, resources and community service will emerge.
